About Graham
Head shaper Graham was born and raised in Sligo, and when he started surfing, he soon realised how blessed he is to live in such a beautiful, surf rich place. His shapes have all been influenced by the variety and quality of waves here in the Northwest. Graham has been working with his hands since he was a kid, whether it’s pulling apart cars and putting them back together or working in his grandad’s tool shed. The skills he developed and his eye for design have helped him become the hand shaper he is today.
When Graham started surfing, it was only natural that he would start fixing his boards himself which led to fixing boards for other people. Years of fixing boards meant that he has had plenty of experience working with the tools and materials needed for board building. Working with top level local surfers as well as every day surfers has helped him develop a range of boards to suit all ability levels and styles.
Graham specialises in hand shaping custom surfboards to meet the needs of individual surfers. Shaping the right board for the right person is key to Graham’s shaping philosophy and comes down to understanding the customers’ surfing style, the type of waves they will be surfing, and the feeling they want to get from their board. The board models described on the website are only guidelines and all boards can be altered to suit the surfer.
We use the highest quality materials available in the industry, Hexcel Fibreglass, Simlar Resin and US Blanks. All boards are designed, shaped and glassed in house in Graham’s Sligo factory. Boards can be made in traditional PU, Epoxy or vacuum infused carbon fibre.
